Three-Phase Separator Internals

Also called: Three-phase separator · Separator internals · Inlet diffuser · Mist extractor

Three phase separator internals split a mixed stream into oil, water and gas. Our separator internals include inlet diffusers, feed distributors and cyclone tubes, selected for each vessel.

Choose This Product When

  • You need to separate natural gas in a three-phase separator
  • You need oil-water-gas separation in a refining hydrogenation unit

Product Description

Three-phase separator internals are the parts inside a separator vessel that split a mixed stream into gas, oil and water. They include the inlet diffuser, the feed distributor, cyclone tubes and combined internals for oil-water-gas separation – selected for each vessel and process.

At the gas outlet, they can be combined with a mist extractor, such as a wire mesh demister pad.

How It Works

The mixed stream enters through an inlet device that slows it down and separates the bulk of the gas. In the vessel, gravity lets the water settle below the oil. Coalescers help small droplets join so they settle faster, and a demister cleans the gas before it leaves. Gas, oil and water each leave through their own outlet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a three phase separator do?

It splits a mixed stream into gas, oil and water, so each can be handled separately.

Which internals do you supply?

Inlet diffusers, feed distributors, cyclone tubes, coalescers and mist eliminators – selected for each vessel.

Wire Mesh Demister Pads

Knitted mesh pad that catches mist in gas

Chevron Mist Eliminators (Vane Type)

Zigzag plates that remove droplets from gas

Oil-Water Coalescers

Removes water droplets from oil
