On oil, gas and chemical tankers, the inert gas system washes the exhaust gas from combustion. A demister then removes the seawater from the gas before it is used to protect the cargo tanks.
Demisters remove water droplets from the cleaned exhaust gas leaving the scrubber.
On floating production units, separators split the well stream into gas, oil and water, and demisters clean the gas.
Pads are made to the existing drawings, and large pads are split into sections so they fit through the manway.
